An environmental product declaration (EPD) presents quantified environmental information for a defined product under the rules of a selected programme. It is often requested in construction procurement and supply chains, but the exact rules depend on the product category, programme and intended market. ConformArc helps manufacturers define and coordinate the workstream rather than promising an instant declaration.
The first decisions are the programme operator, applicable product category rules (PCR), product or product-group boundary, manufacturing sites and reference data period. The underlying life cycle assessment must follow the selected rules. A specialist can then prepare the study and declaration, with independent verification and publication arranged under the programme’s requirements. A consultant-written PDF without the required process is not automatically a verified or published EPD.
A scoped engagement can cover a programme/PCR decision note, data request, product-grouping review, LCA coordination, declaration content review, verification question log and publication handoff. EN 15804 is relevant to applicable construction-product EPD programmes, not every EPD. Version, expiry and update requirements should be checked with the chosen programme.
Bring the products and variants, site list, BOM, process and energy data, data year, existing LCA, customer requirement and any nominated EPD programme. Early clarity avoids repeated data collection and mismatched product groupings. Cost depends on product breadth, data readiness, modelling, verification and programme fees; these should be quoted separately where appropriate.
No. It reports indicators within a defined methodology; comparative superiority requires a properly substantiated comparison.
The appointed independent verifier and programme operator under the chosen scheme, as applicable.
Possibly, subject to the programme/PCR and defensible product grouping and data rules.
