Common requests
A distributor asks for a RoHS declaration; a component declaration is missing or inconsistent; a new material or supplier creates an evidence gap; or a buyer asks for a specific test report. The sample selection and test method should follow the product and material question, rather than a default test package.
Testing, supplier declarations or both?
A specialist may start by checking product scope and any relevant exemption, then review the bill of materials, component declarations and existing reports. Testing can be used where evidence is absent, inconsistent or higher risk. The sample, homogeneous material, test method and report use must be agreed by the laboratory; do not assume that testing one convenient component covers the whole product. The required documentation and EU declaration responsibilities remain with the relevant economic operator under the applicable rules.
This page addresses EU RoHS. A customer request for REACH, WEEE or another substance regime should be stated separately. If the same electronic product also needs electromagnetic evidence, see industrial EMC testing. For a device also heading to the US, see FCC equipment authorization.
What to send
Provide product type and use, target market, model variants, bill of materials or a high-level component list, existing supplier declarations/reports, the buyer’s required format, and target date. A high-level description is enough for the first contact; share confidential BOMs with an agreed provider through an appropriate channel after scope and permission are settled.
How support is fulfilled
- Describe the equipment, target country/market, variants and customer’s exact wording.
- We discuss a relevant specialist contact and ask before sharing your details.
- The provider confirms documentation review, evidence planning or applicable testing, then quotes samples, deliverables, price and timing.
